Part of Cambridge Assessment and Cambridge University Press, The Centre for Evaluation and Monitoring (CEM) is seeking a talented Head of Marketing to lead our business critical marketing function to shape our overarching business strategy.

 

The Head of Marketing will lead the way in collaborating with the rest of the Group, bringing synergy across our marketing, insight and communication strategies, whilst ensuring CEM has a clear programme of its own.

Marketing can shine a light on customer needs as well as competitor intelligence.  Helping to energise the marketing strategy to develop and implement clear and relevant strategies, you will ensure that we meet and exceed customer expectations better than any other provider.

With full accountability for delivering successful insight, marketing and communications strategies that generate thorough customer, market and competitor insight, you will drive forward the brand performance and awareness as well as increasing income and surplus.

 

Creating a strategic vision

Working with colleagues across CEM and the wider Cambridge network you will develop ways of conducting customer insight and alignment on insight development and strategy.  Completely focussed on your customer, you’ll define and execute a high-level marketing strategy building the CEM strategic brand vision and framework.

An inspiring leader, you’ll enthuse a team of influential marketers to grow and develop, leading them to achieve the best outcomes.  You’ll also manage the marketing budget ensuring we are working with the right partners and getting the most out of those relationships.

 

What we’re looking for

With a relevant degree, and ideally a post-graduate marketing qualification, you’ll have a track record of marketing success, ideally in a technology or education organisation, with an international reach.  With established leadership and engagement skills you’ll be a natural collaborator with a customer first mind-set and the ability to envisage future customer needs.

Collaborative, yet competitive in winning customer loyalty, you’ll have demonstrable people management and team development skills.  The ability to delegate is key, as is the prioritisation of a considerable workload.  Experience of success in a matrix organisation, collaborating with a network of colleagues to achieve business goals is required.

With sound financial and budgetary management skills, you’ll have solid commercial acumen.  Strong analytical, project management and problem solving skills, with high attention to detail are required as is the ability to think strategically whilst achieving results in the here and now.

 

Able to communicate at all levels and adopt a flexible and consultative approach, you will be able to adapt to a changing business in an evolving market place.
