What it’s about

We’re looking for a Business Change Manager who is passionate about change and improvement; someone able to balance opportunity for change with practicality of delivery; a logical thinker with an empathetic approach, who is able to gain the trust of the business.

As part of a small team of business change experts working across all of OCR’s business functions, you will take responsibility for delivering transformation in line with business priorities. You will also support continuous improvement activity within business functions by partnering to provide guidance, challenge and structure.


What you’ll be doing

You will:

  • Work with managers from across the business to identify and analyse opportunities for process transformation
  • Lead the full lifecycle of business change to deliver improvements in processes, services and systems to maximise the effectiveness and efficiency of the business and successfully transition change to a business as usual state
  • Ensure major projects and programmes meet OCR’s own governance requirements and that they are appropriately monitored and approved at every stage.
  • Support OCR to develop a structured approach to continuous improvement and embed this into business as usual
  • Ensure that strategic change initiatives deliver improvements that meet customer and business needs in a way that supports core activity

  • Professional qualification e.g. Degree and/or relevant business experience


  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and able to clearly explain complex issues
  • Ability to engage with a broad range of stakeholders and build collaborative, cross-department working relationships
  • Confident and effective negotiation and influencing skills 
  • Well/highly developed people management skills
  • Able to work independently, with teams, and a competent matrix manager.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills that secure successful outcomes
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills and ability to assimilate detailed knowledge quickly and accurately.
  • Process improvement methods, tools, and process mapping 
  • Structured user acceptance test planning, execution and reporting


  • Experience of identifying, initiating and delivering a change
  • Experience of working in a project and/or process improvement
