Job Purpose

To maintain and grow Cambridge Assessment International Examinations in Southern Africa. This is primarily in our schools’ markets and, where and when appropriate, our ministry relationships or our education reform work. This will be by ensuring that quality schools are recruited and our existing customers are well supported and by providing world-class service to our schools, ministries, educational organisations, regulatory bodies and the wider community.


What You’ll Be Doing

  • Growing the uptake of Cambridge programmes in the Southern Africa region, primarily schools, in line with the country /regional strategy and plans and in accordance corporate guidance/protocols.
  • To assist in the development of strategy to grow our business in Southern Africa.
  • To develop relationships with both new and existing Cambridge schools and associates in this location to ensure loyalty to Cambridge, with the aim of supporting the continued growth of Cambridge.     
  • To maintain current details of relationships with school and other stakeholders on our CRM system and identify follow up actions when required. 
  • Pro-actively manage contract relationships as the job holder will be a contract manager for one or more contracts.            
  • Identify opportunities to build awareness for Cambridge products and services through active participation at educational seminars, conferences and other events and to plan, manage and implement such activities.
  • To represent Cambridge at events such as exhibitions, seminars and conferences, making presentations, or delivering speeches, as required.
  • To develop and maintain high-level relationships with ministries and appropriate national authorities and non-governmental organisation to enable the effective positioning of our programmes, qualifications and education services. And as appropriate identifying opportunities for education reform projects.
  • This job involves regular travel in Southern Africa. One of the most challenging aspects of the work will be successfully to meet the demands of a large number of customers spread across an extended geographical region.
  • Our government and national education authority activities are complex and require the highest professional skill, including a number of key relationships. The post-holder’s responsibility for relationship development is at the highest level and involves interaction with Ministers and senior civil servants in a wide group of educational contexts.


What we’re looking For





  • Graduate qualification or equivalent demonstrable experience; preferably in an education-related field or equivalent demonstrable experience.


  • A qualification in teaching




  • Business development in an education context.
  • Good proven IT skills, including knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Fluency in the English language, both written and oral.
  • Confident communication and presentation skills.



  • Familiarity with the education systems in the region and with international education.
  • Knowledge of international education
  • Knowledge of Cambridge programmes and qualifications. 
  • Experience of working in an international organisation. 
  • Experience of teaching Cambridge school programmes and qualifications
