About the role:

 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for 2 Strategy Manager roles to support the Senior Leadership teams at Cambridge Assessment and Cambridge University Press. Both roles will be expected to work closely with its counterpart on joint projects and strategy.

 

Both roles will develop and provide analysis of strategy plans, business development projects, acquisitions, market characteristics, business issues, and competitive dynamics and product opportunities.

 

Working closely with senior stakeholders across the Press and Cambridge Assessment the roles will be responsible for developing business plans with business leaders and/or providing high-quality timely analysis and informed recommendations on strategy, business development projects, acquisitions, market characteristics, business issues, competitive dynamics and digital product opportunities.


You will work collaboratively with both sister organisations and will be working on key partnerships on a regular basis. Your experience with financial planning and analysis data will play a vital part in your success within the role.

 

This is an exciting time to join both organisations as we are currently undertaking large scale transformation projects.

 

About you:

 

The ideal candidate would bring the following skills to the table:

  • Executive strategic planning/market research/business development experience (ideally gained in a commercial or consulting organisation).
  • General business management experience.
  • Economic and financial modelling skills.
  • Knowledge of technology trends and business implications.
  • Analytical and creative thinking.
  • Project management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Detailed knowledge of the education sector an advantage.                                

 

Specific Experience Required:

  • This would be someone stepping up from a Business Analyst role within a strategy consultancy looking for corporate experience
  • Strategy Consulting experience either within a top tier strategy house or in a strategy function of a multinational corporate
  • Highly analytical and numerate, strong financial modelling skills
  • Working knowledge of Excel & PowerPoint
