What it’s about
The Programme Change Director will undertake the strategic leadership and delivery of the programme of work to modernise a major area for Cambridge Assessment English – test revision, new products and multiple systems replacement. 

What you’ll be doing
• Delivering the product and system modernisation outcomes and objectives 
• Leading the programme team to deliver to schedule, budget and quality 
• Ensuring that a benefit realisation plan is in place and tracking programme delivery against these benefits 
• Reviewing project plans to ensure alignment with programme strategy 
• Aligning and synergising the efforts of the programme group internally and with other programmes and business areas 
• Engaging and influencing a diverse range of senior (C-Suite) stakeholders, to agree a coherent strategy and business model 
• Implementing effective communication mechanisms to meet stakeholder expectations

JOB PURPOSE

 

The Programme Change Director is responsible for delivering all of the projects as part of the programme of work to modernise a major Cambridge English exam – test revision, new products and multiple systems replacement.

 

 

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

 

  • Accountable to product owner, COO and CEO for successful delivery and realisation of product and system modernisation outcomes and objectives

 

  • Accountable to the Programme Board for schedule, budget, and quality of all programme delivery

 

 

  • Provides the interface between product owner, project manager and functional leads and acts as the focal point between the programme, the business, BTS and other stakeholders

 

  • Leads commercial model and business case development

 

 

  • Ensures that a benefit realisation plan is in place and is accountable for ensuring tracking of programme delivery against its benefits

 

  • Lead and oversee portfolios of related projects, guiding project managers of constituent projects and managing inter-dependencies, risks, issues and communications across the portfolio

 

  • Reviews/approves project plans for conformance to programme strategy and programme plan and schedule

 

 

  • Escalates decisions to Executive Sponsors as necessary

 

 

  • Line manages the work of the team

Qualifications

 

  • Project management principles
  • Post-graduate qualification in business, management or related field desirable

  • Demonstrable commercial expertise preferably in an international education context
