Salary:  £33,594 - £39,250 

Location: The Triangle Building, Shaftesbury Road, Cambridge, CB2 8EA (currently working remotely)

These are exciting times for Cambridge English Assessment as we look to modernise our systems and strive to find creative and innovative ways to improve our products and services to customers. To enable us to meet the ever increasing demand for our services, we are seeking to appoint two experienced, enthusiastic and dynamic Operations Managers, who will thrive in this changing environment and is motivated by delivering excellent customer service. 

 

What you’ll be doing 

Each role has a slightly different focus, Documentation and Communication or Projects. The roles encompass a range of tasks and responsibilities, you will need to establish a high standard for the following activities: 

 

Permanent - Operations Manager - Documentation and Communication 

  • Creating, rolling-out, and evolving a series of training tools to guide Cambridge English Qualifications (CEQ) Delivery colleagues in the creation / review of Work Instructions and Process Flows 

  • Embedding a culture of engagement in documentation review periods and the timely updating of Work Instructions and Process Flows following process improvements and new system deployments or where non-compliance is identified 

  • Ensuring that communications about process improvements and new system deployments are clear, informative, timely, and relevant to the recipients  

  • Working collaboratively with CEQ Delivery managers and colleagues across the business to determine the training strategies for internal and external customers, and support them in the creation and review of documentation and training materials 

  • Embedding a culture of engaging with the identification, mitigation and recording and resolution of issues and risk 

  • Ensuring that CEQ Delivery keeps up-to-date with and adheres to Ofqual compliance requirements 

  • Leading in the creation / review of induction and training plans and associated training materials on behalf of CEQ Delivery 

 

Fixed Term Contract - Operations Manager - Projects  

  • Supporting / managing multiple business change and system development projects to enhance existing functionality, develop new features, and deliver business change 

  • Actively working with colleagues across CEQ Delivery by facilitating the completion of full gap analysis and ensuring that appropriate project governance is put in place and maintained 

  • Actively working with colleagues to ensure the requirements of key stakeholders across and outside the business are identified, comprehensively understood, and suitably accommodated. 

  • Actively working with colleagues to ensure relationship management with key stakeholders across and outside the business is maintained throughout the duration of the project / systems development 

  • Working collaboratively with CEQ Delivery managers to create communications plans, determine training requirements, and establish the best approach for delivery 

  • Providing the technical expertise to inform the design and development of training materials for CEQ Delivery’s customers and key stakeholders and in the delivery of the training itself  

 

What we’re looking for 

The successful candidates should have experience of working collaboratively in a busy office environment, writing meaning documentation, and working under pressure to demanding deadlines. Ideally both candidates will also have experience of working on large projects and systems development. For further skills required please see essential and desirable criteria below. 

  

Qualifications 

Essential;

  • Educated to A level (or equivalent), or have relevant business experience 

  • PRINCE2 / Six Sigma / other project management qualification to practitioner level, or have equivalent business experience (Projects role only) 

 

Desirable;

  • Educated to degree level (or equivalent) 

 

Essential Skills;

  • A high standard of spoken and written English 

  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint) 

  • A logical approach, with excellent problem-solving skills 

  • A high attention to detail 

  • An ability to work effectively under pressure 

  • Excellent customer service and relationship management skills 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills  

  • Excellent organisational, prioritising and planning skills 

 

Essential Experience;

  • Experience of (or enthusiasm for) writing process / training documentation (Documentation and Communication role only) 

  • Managing change and the challenges it brings (Projects role only) 

  • Identifying and supporting the implementation process improvements 

  • Working with multiple processes and systems 

  • Working in a complex and busy office environment 

 

Desirable Experience:

  • Knowledge of Cambridge Assessment English’s product range  

  • Knowledge of Cambridge Assessment English’s business aims and objectives
