What it’s about


Due to internal promotion an exciting opportunity has arisen for an Education Officer to join the Professional Development Qualifications (PDQ) team in the Education Division.  The remit of this role will be to manage the quality assurance and quality improvement of the assessment model for the Cambridge PDQs.  We are looking for an Education Officer with experience of assessment who can manage our existing assessment framework and who can look at the future of assessment and apply it to our growing product group.


What you’ll be doing


  • To manage the day to day quality assurance of the assessment of Cambridge PDQs liaising with internal colleagues, examiners and PDQ centres as applicable;
  • To manage the quality improvement of the assessment model with a particular focus on the implementation and extension of the online Professional Development portfolio;
  • To manage the pool of examiners responsible for examining the Cambridge Professional Development Qualifications in terms of their recruitment, initial training and ongoing professional development;
  • To keep up to date with recent developments in the field of assessment to allow for benchmarking and further research.

What we’re looking for



  • Degree or equivalent experience 
  • Recognised teaching qualification



  • Communication and presentation (both written and oral, including good IT literacy)
  • Proven ability to implement and manage quality assessment processes
  • Proven ability to create and implement improvements in assessment models
  • An understanding of the future of assessment and the ability to drive innovative solutions for the assessment of Cambridge PDQs.



  • Teaching in secondary or tertiary education
  • Expertise in assessment, data analysis and educational outcomes
  • Proven ability to liaise with colleagues across different teams
  • Proven ability to design and deliver assessment-focused training and moderation events


  • Understanding of education in an international context.
  • Experience of having taught / assessed across FHEQ Levels 3-7
  • Knowledge of the implementation and efficacy of ePortfolios
