What it’s about

This is a fantastic fixed term opportunity for an experienced Credit Controller to join our team providing effective credit control across 150 countries for an income stream in excess of £400m pa.


Working as a Credit Controller within our established and friendly team you will take ownership for your ledger of international educational establishments and will be targeted based on maximising cash flow, minimising bad debt and providing high levels of customer service. You will be primarily responsible for chasing payments, engaging in a wide range of customer enquiries and recording actions to ensure all agreed procedures, standards and targets are met.

What you’ll be doing

  • Ownership of an international ledger and be targeted for maximising cash flow, minimising bad debts and providing high levels of customer service
  • Responding to and/or escalating all enquiries arising from the billing output and account based queries
  • Ensuring high risk customers are identified to effectively mitigate the company exposure to the risk of bad debts.
  • To ensure prime functions are carried out to agreed levels: producing statements, dunning letters, monthly reporting.
  • Supporting credit checking and monitoring activities


What we’re looking for


  • GCSE grade C or above in Maths and English (or equivalent)
  • Preferred CICM qualified (Level 2, 3 or 5) or equivalent Credit Control experience



  • Understanding of Accounts Receivable function & integrated Finance System
  • Ability to quickly understand & learn new systems / processes.
  • Excellent communication both oral and written.
  • Ability to negotiate whilst showing empathy while addressing customer collections and debt management.
  • Good organisational skills with strong ability to prioritise and deal with high volumes.
  • Able to balance diverse workload and prioritise tasks.



  • Must have proven experience in working in a Credit Control environment at the required level.
  • Proven experience using Excel and spreadsheets within a similar role.
  • Experience of SAP is advantageous
  • Previous experience within an overseas credit control environment dealing with a range of accounts, different currencies and high volumes of correspondence advantageous.
  • Knowledge of credit checking & credit risk assessment and monitoring advantageous.
  • Knowledge of SAP is advantageous.
