We have a vacancy as a Commercial Analyst in the Cambridge Assessment English’s Global Sales team. These are exciting times as we are currently evaluating how business insights can help increase sales and are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and dynamic Analyst who will thrive in this changing environment. What you’ll be doing

 

  • Analyse trends and variances, advising and influencing senior management to aid the understanding of the impact of financial performance
  • Design business reports to help improve business performance
  • Manage the division’s Microsoft PowerBI reporting system, including manually uploading the necessary data and changing layouts to fit reporting needs
  • Create and review high quality and accurate cost reports to enable sales operations to find efficiencies
  • To provide data to support business cases and project submissions as required including providing a cost benefit analysis
  • To assist with budget building and monitoring, including working with the business to explain variances
  • Provide insights, analyses and fast turnaround reports with accurate information on Cambridge English Global Network business performance, using data obtained from multiple sources to facilitate monthly sales performance meetings. The analyst needs to design how the reports should look like and make inferences and recommendations
  • Assist the senior management of Global Network as necessary to ensure it continues to be a department of excellence, with a focus on data gathering and adding value by synthesizing this data into meaningful reports

     

 

What we’re looking for

 

You should have a collaborative approach to your work, have strong analytical skills and be highly commercial – and good with numbers. You will be able to work unsupervised to demanding deadlines and have excellent attention to detail.

 

 

 

 

Qualifications, Skills, Experience and Behaviours:

 

Essential:

 

  • Educated to degree level (or equivalent)
  • Experience of complex processes and procedures
  • Flexibility and adaptability
  • Excellent oral and written communicator
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure
  • Ability to think strategically
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft office products (making creative and concise PowerPoint presentations, using Ms Excel, incl. using advanced functions and VBA macros)
  • High standard of spoken and written English
  • Excellent numerical skills
  • Can influence and easily work with people outside own organization
  • Several years’ experience of commercial analysis and the use of the complex business analysis tools/techniques and reporting systems

     

 

Desirable:

 

  • MBA or similar business qualification
  • Knowledge of the Cambridge English product range
  • Good overview of Cambridge English business aims and objectives
