We are currently seeking to recruit a Marketing Manager Italy, based in our office in Bologna to lead on all marketing activities for Cambridge Assessment English in country. The Marketing Manager will work as part of an extended team within the Europe region.

What you will be doing

Your role will focus on the following sectors: State Schools, Private Language schools, Higher Educational Institutes and Corporates. You will


  • Lead the development and implementation of the marketing plan for Italy which includes: managing the budget and evaluating all our marketing activities to maximise return on our investment; providing support to the marketing  activities of our network of partners by seeking out new marketing approaches which will build and strengthen our/their position; conduct market research and analyse all relevant data related to schools, HEI and corporates to identify key trends and implement appropriate marketing actions to capitalise on opportunities and also to meet the pain points of customers by developing assets to meet their needs
  • Develop and manage relations with external high level stakeholders including Italian Ministry of Education officials, the local Cambridge English exam centre network and related educational institutes and local journalists and media agencies for all PR-related activities.
  • Manage the Digital Marketing Support Manager in the development and implementation of online marketing activities and campaigns including digital advertising, email campaigns, Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) and website updates
  • Manage the Senior Marketing Administrator responsible for events and seminar planning and collateral management
  • Collaborate closely with the in-country business development and customer services teams in the development of highly integrated activities related to lead generation, telemarketing campaigns, CRM tracking & exam centre communication
  • Liaise, coordinate & align with marketing colleagues at both regional level and with the marketing department in Cambridge UK


What we are looking for


You will need to provide demonstrable experience of

  • developing marketing strategy and implementation plan (essential)
  • hands-on successful implementation of multi-channel (online and offline) marketing campaigns in B2C and B2B environment (essential)
  • effective collaborative working and excellent project management skills (essential)
  • using marketing automation platforms to create brand awareness, nurturing and lead generation campaigns (Desirable)


You should have

  • a graduate or postgraduate degree, ideally in marketing
  • C2 level of proficiency in Italian and a minimum of C1 level in English (Essential)
  • excellent communication and presentation skills (essential)
  • a thorough knowledge of the Italian market and specifically the education system (essential)
  • the ability to prioritise a heavy workload within a fast-paced environment (essential)
  • excellent analytical skills
  • line management experience leading a marketing team (essential)
  • good knowledge of GDPR (essential)
  • good understanding of digital marketing (essential)
  • a proactive and creative mind-set (essential)
  • strong drive, motivation and enthusiasm (desirable)
